Biography

Rep. Steve Samuelson, a Bethlehem resident, earned a bachelor's degree in government from Lehigh University. He has been a PTA Board member at Spring Garden Elementary School, president of the Bethlehem Area Jaycees, co-chairman of the Time Capsule Committee for the Bethlehem 250th anniversary, and a Sunday school teacher at First Presbyterian Church. He was named Outstanding Young Person of the Year for 1992 by the Jaycees and is a graduate of Leadership Lehigh Valley.

His volunteer activities include Burnside Plantation and Habitat for Humanity. Samuelson has I I years of county and state government experience, as a legislative aide and clerk to the board for the Lehigh County Commissioners from 1989 to 1998, and previously as legislative assistant to state Reps. Paul McHale and Karen Ritter. He once was a newspaper reporter for the former Bethlehem Globe-Times.

He and his wife, Tracy, are the parents of Molly and Michael.
